*Getting Started on Windows

Windows 10 and Windows 8

Picture Keeper is fully compatible with Windows 8 and 10. The only difference is the start up process as Windows 10 has the Auto Play Feature turned off. Plug Picture Keeper into any USB port on your computer. From the Desktop Tile, click the File Explorer (Yellow Folder on the Task Bar). Under "Computer" click on the Picture Keeper drive (may be labeled as an E:, F:, or another drive).

 

Note: If "Choose what to do with removable drives" appears, click to open. Then click 'Open folder to view files' (See image below).

 

Double-click the 'LaunchPictureKeeper' or 'PictureKeeperPro' file with the Picture Keeper logo.

 

 

Picture Keeper's main screen will appear. Click 'Start Backup' to get started.

 


 

Windows 7, Vista, and XP

Plug Picture Keeper into any USB port on your computer.

AutoPlay window appears, click 'Open Folder to View Files' (See Image Below).


DO NOT CLICK 'IMPORT PICTURES AND VIDEOS
This option will copy all of the graphics and icons used by the Picture Keeper software onto your computer. This will produce several hundred small graphic files on your computer that you will have to delete. If you have accidentally done this, please contact us for help.

If the AutoPlay menu does not appear...
Click the 'Windows Start Button;. From that menu click the '(My) Computer' selection.
(You will see the Picture Keeper drive (E:, F:,) displayed in the devices with removable storage).

 

Double-click the 'LaunchPictureKeeper' or 'PictureKeeperPro' file with the Picture Keeper logo.

 

 

Picture Keeper's main screen will appear. Click 'Start Backup' to get started.
